Dr. Aniruddha Chatterjee
Associate Professor

Dr. Aniruddha Chatterjee is an esteemed Associate Professor in the Plastics and Polymer Engineering Department at Plastindia International University (PIU). With a rich academic background and a deep passion for research, Dr. Chatterjee contributes significantly to the university’s commitment to academic excellence and innovation. Dr. Chatterjee has demonstrated his expertise in the field of Polymer Science & Engineering and Nanoscience & Technology with 18 years of teaching, research and industrial experience.  He is the recipient of prestigious DST Young Scientist Postdoctoral Fellow, Department of Science and Technology (DST), New Delhi, Government of India, CSIR Senior Research Fellow (SRF), CSIR, New Delhi and UGC Project Fellow, UGC, New Delhi. He had worked as Head of the Department of Plastics and Polymer Engineering, Maharastra Institute of Technology (MIT), Aurangabad, one of the reputed NAAC A Grade institutions of Maharashtra from March 2016 to August 2022. He was als

o the Governing Body Member for Academic Year 2019-2021 and Dean (R & D and Innovation) of the same institute.

As an Associate Professor, Dr. Chatterjee brings a wealth of experience to the Plastics and Polymer Engineering Department. His academic journey is marked by a dedication to fostering a dynamic learning environment, where students are inspired to explore the intricacies of plastics and polymer engineering. Dr. Chatterjee’s teaching philosophy emphasizes the integration of theoretical knowledge with practical applications, providing students with a holistic understanding of the subject.

Dr. Chatterjee is actively engaged in research, focusing on cutting-edge developments in  Plastics and Polymer Engineering. His expertise spans various domains, including polymer blends and composites, , hybrid nanostructures, nanocatalyst in green chemistry, nano-adsorbents & membrane monolith and biopolymer nanocomposites. His research contributions, documented as 43 publications in high impact factor (highest impact factor 16.774) reputed peer reviewed international journals, 5 patents granted, 1 copyright and 18 book chapters and 52 national/international conference presentations, showcase his commitment to advancing the field. He has successfully handled 5 Major Research Projects  (total cost 123 lakhs) sponsored by government funding agencies as TEQIP, MHRD, New Delhi; UGC, New Delhi and Nano Mission, DST, New Delhi. He has successfully guided 2 Ph.D. students as Co-guide in nanotechnology field and presently guiding 2 PhD scholars as main guide. Ten M. Tech students successfully completed their degree under his guidance, 4 Project Fellow guided under major research projects funded by different government funding agencies. As an integral part of PIU’s academic community, Dr. Chatterjee plays a crucial role in shaping the next generation of plastics and polymer engineers, instilling in them a passion for innovation and a commitment to excellence.
